American-based kiwi rockers RAPTURE RUCKUS announced today they are returning to New Zealand in April 2012 for two live concerts with Grammy-nominated band P.O.D.
The NZ tour dates mark a break in what has been a whirlwind ride for Rapture Ruckus after signing with Seattle-based Tooth & Nail Records (EMI), relocating to the U.S.A, releasing 2 albums and performing over 200 shows across North America in the past 18 months.
Heading back with multi-platinum P.O.D. in what they promise to be their biggest show to date is nothing short of a dream come true for Rapture Ruckus frontman Brad Dring. The self-proclaimed ‘average-Joe’ admits he’s had anything but an average existence in the past 2 years:
“It’s been crazy man – sometimes it feels like a bit of a blur it’s all moving so fast. But moments like these are kind of milestones for me… coming home makes you think a lot more about how far you’ve come.”
Annual crowd pleasers at the Parachute Festival, Rapture Ruckus have a loyal following of fans – and caused a mini uproar when they announced they would not be able to play the 2012 festival due to touring commitments.
“Our NZ fans are like our extended family… they’ve been there since Ruckus began. It’s a great feeling to be able to bring back a show like this with P.O.D. for them” says Dring.
The events are called ALIVE 2012 and will be held in Wellington (Town Hall) and Auckland (Logan Campbell Centre) on April 10 & 11, 2012.
