On Friday 20 January the BIG DAY OUT, lands at Auckland’s Mt Smart stadium once again.

And what a show it is. With its final timetable now unveiled, it is clear to see that a four stage BIG DAY OUT is still a kaleidoscopic rock funhouse with thrills around every corner.

It pulls SOUNDGARDEN sharply into focus as the epic headliners we know they are, 90 minutes of fiery glory atop a mainstage undercard that pulsates with rock energy from its openers PARKWAY DRIVE to relentless hitters CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, MY CHEMS and KASABIAN.

It intoxicates with the proposition of NOEL GALLAGHER’S HIGH FLYING BIRDS plundering the Oasis catalogue in the show-closing Green Stage finale.

It generates sweat just at the thought of a rampaging Boiler crowd rolling from the sharp beats of BATTLES through to the braincell mashup insanity of GIRL TALK, before the scando-chilled beats of Röyksopp prepare the dubstep massive for MT EDEN and the unstoppable NERO.

It conjures up sweet afternoon delights like BEST COAST and UMO pashing waves of sonic pop across the Mt Smart fields.

It sickens with the tricktionary of international skate legend TONY HAWK, tackling a specially constructed 40 foot Vert Ramp in a day long display alongside other big names of world skating including Jesse Fritsch, Kevin Staab, and Juergen Horrwarth.

Our latest announcement adds New Zealand DJ legend P-MONEY to the line-up as well as the band who won our comp to kick off the Big Day Out 2012… WILBERFORCES. After devolving down to a two-piece with 2011’s fiery album Vipassana, this Auckland outfit is one of the most intensely brilliant groups on the local musical map this year.
