New Dub City are set for a summer tour of Aotearoa early 2012. Having previously performed in the South Island, this will be the first time New Dub City will hit audiences in the North with their energetic brand of reggae, dub, hip hop and dancehall. The tour will take in Auckland, Wellington, Queenstown, Wanaka, Dunedin and Christchurch.
The band will be performing songs from their debut album Home, which has received airplay around Australia and overseas. The album has been described as a ‘beatsploration of dub, hip hop, and bassy grooves laced with international stories made right here in Australia’.
New Dub City are beginning to make their mark as a touring act, having played numerous shows in the past 18 months around Australia and New Zealand. In August 2011 they embarked on a unique two-week tour of the remote Ngaanyatjarra Lands in the Western Desert, performing in Aboriginal communities.
New Dub City will be touring New Zealand between January 26 and February 5. Check out http://www.newdubcity.com/ for more details.
