Having just finished a national book release tour and touring and filming as a cast member of Fly My Pretties, Flip Grater returns to her home of Canterbury for one final NZ summer show. Flip will perform at the Nor’Wester in Amberley, North Canterbury as part of the Summer of Riesling festival on Wednesday January 25th 2012. The performance will be Flip’s final NZ concert before she heads to Europe for the remainder of the year to live and record an album in Paris.
“I’ve been travelling a lot this year and it’s always so nice to go home! I’m a big fan of the Canterbury region and the food and wines it produces so I’m really pleased to be a part of New Zealand’s first Summer of Riesling,’ says Flip.
Originally from the eastern suburbs of Christchurch City, Flip is no stranger to North Canterbury. Her father John Grater and his wife Michele Cherry own Stonecircle Organics, an organic farm in Amberley and Flip visits the region several times a year.
Flip’s love of food and wine is demonstrated clearly in her recent book The Cookbook Tour Europe, an acclaimed travel journal about the music and culinary adventures of being a touring musician. As well as presenting its usual menu, the Nor’Wester will be creating a special menu for the evening celebrating local food and Riesling. Get in quick as bookings are strictly limited!
