San Diego's finest are headed back down under for a one-off show in Auckland.
Lured once again by New Zealand's reckless summer surf beaches and the chance to introduce Kiwis to 2011's chart-topping effort VICE VERSES, Switchfoot is headed our way on the 8th of March for an all-ages gig at Auckland's Studio.
The Grammy Award-winning band, led by Jon Foreman, bring polarity to the fore on their latest album - not entirely unusual for a band who trade in loud anthems that celebrate both the dark and light shades of the human condition. Also not unusual for a band who's live show is an unrivalled journey through triumphant hope and broke-down blues.
"We wanted to write about the polarity of what it means to be human, the lights and darks. I'm always intrigued by the tension that exists between life and death." Says Foreman of the new album. "When making (2009's) HELLO HURRICANE, there was a graveyard right by the hotel we were staying at while we were mixing it, and I spent a little bit of time there each morning walking through and sorting it out... really VICE VERSES started there. This record is as much about loss as it is about what we still have while we're living."
Switchfoot have also been confirmed as a headliner for Parachute Festival 2013.
