Wellington lads The Thomas Oliver Band are set to release One of These Days, the fourth single, off their debut album number 1 selling album Baby, I’ll Play.
The release of One of These Days follows on from the band’s recent success with Baby, I’ll Play taking out the iTunes Best New Zealand Blues and Roots Album and the #1 Top CD seller on http://www.amplifier.co.nz/ for 2011.
The band have reworked the single, mixed by Mu from Fat Freddy’s Drop and mastered in LA by Stephen Marcussen, since the initial recording on Baby, I’ll Play. Front man Thomas Oliver explains One of These Days is a song of hope and finding one’s direction again, “the new recording lets the ‘song’ shine through, with an organic, jammy nature in the verses and a harder-hitting chorus.”
To celebrate the release One of These Days, The Thomas Oliver Band are returning to where it all started, the home of their first single release, Wellington’s Bar Bodega for one show only on Saturday 24 March with support from Louis Baker.
