Secret Sounds Presents

MUMFORD & SONS

NEW ZEALAND STOPOVER TOUR

“It’s a sound that would be in its element on stage, but this album conveys that well enough to tide you over until you get that chance to see them live.”  APN, 4 stars

Secret Sounds are thrilled to confirm Mumford & Sons are coming to New Zealand for the first time ever to wow audiences this November!

Following on from an incredible 10 concerts across Australia in October taking in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, Hobart, Melbourne, Canberra, Cairns, Townsville and the Gold Coast, the band will then perform 3 New Zealand shows in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.  Anyone who has been lucky enough to see them before will tell you it is guaranteed to be one of the biggest and most exciting nights on the years live music calendar!

With ‘Sigh No More’ achieving phenomenal global success, Mumford & Sons have had a jaw dropping couple of years since it’s release in 2009.  Having won both Brit and ARIA awards and topping radio charts with the astonishing smash hit ‘Little Lion Man’, they were also nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize, a swag of Grammys and other notable awards.  Here in New Zealand, ‘Sigh No More’ reached Number 1 in the charts, with the album attaining triple platinum status!  The good news is the wait will soon be over for fans as their highly anticipated sophomore album is set for release in September.

With music we know and love full with enthusiasm and confidence plus a new album to boot, join Marcus, Country Winston, Ben and Ted this November and bear witness to  '…their incredible energy drawing us in quickly to their circle of songs, to the warmth of their stories, and to their magical community of misty-eyed men.’  - Sydney Morning Herald

Ticket buyers can be among the first to pre-order Mumford & Sons' second studio album, the follow-up to Sigh No More, to be delivered on the day it is released in the format of their choice.  More details coming at  http://www.mumfordandsons.com/

The album will be released this September through Gentleman of the Road/Dew Process.

The indomitable Sarah Blasko will be joining Mumford & Sons for their New Zealand tour in November. The shows are very timely, being hot on the heels
of the release of her highly-anticipated new album on October 26th. A musician of great integrity and artistic temperament who pushes creative
boundaries across the arts, Sarah Blasko’s charismatic live show with a five-piece band is the perfect addition to this stellar line up.

The forthcoming self-produced album was recorded in Sweden at Atlantis studios. Additionally, she also travelled to Bulgaria to enlist the services
of the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra to create what is likely to be her most acclaimed and personal album to date.

To complement this international night of musical magic is Rodney Fisher, best known in New Zealand as the singer in well loved band Goodshirt.
Living in the UK for the last six years, Rodney has returned home with a debut solo album ‘Songs From The Backyard’.

Released earlier this year to critical acclaim (4/5 Time Out, NZ Herald, 4/5 Groove, Guide), ‘Songs From The Backyard’ has been described as ‘a folk album,
dripping with nostalgia…undeniably unique.’ Fans attending the Mumford & Sons shows can expect to hear tracks from Rod’s solo album as well as
some classic Goodshirt songs.

Tickets to the Mumford & Sons New Zealand Stopover Tour have been flying out the door with the first Wellington show selling out immediately. A second
show was quickly announced, only to sell out soon after. No further Wellington shows will be added and the Auckland and Christchurch shows are now
close to reaching capacity. With Australia and New Zealand being among the first countries to get a taste of the new album “Babel” in the live arena,
fans should get in quick to avoid disappointment.

Mumford & Sons’ debut album “Sigh No More” sold more than 5 million albums world-wide, reaching #1 on the ARIA charts, triple platinum sales and scoring
an ARIA award for Most Popular International Act. Since its release the band have toured across the world, been nominated for Grammy Awards and
won the Brit Award for Album of The Year. They have played with Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen and performed for US President Barack Obama.

“Babel” will be released through Gentlemen of The Road/Dew Process on 21 September, 2012.
