The Concert with thanks to Skinny Mobile is the largest music event to hit Christchurch this year. With a lineup of incredible Kiwi artists, The Concert is an unmissable party exclusively for 10,000 people who have rolled up their sleeves to help a community, school or a deserving person!
Today, we are proud to announce a stunning lineup of 16 top Kiwi bands that have pledged their time and talent to support ‘The Concert’.
Folk rockers Avalanche City will return from overseas especially for the show, following the international success of their album ‘Our New Life Above The Ground’ with chart-topping hits like ‘Love Love Love’.
Soulful songstress Hollie Smith is a personal favourite of the Volunteer Army and will once again raise the spirits of her thousands of Christchurch fans.
Kiwi alt-rock legends Goodshirt reformed recently after a 6-year hiatus. Armed with new material and a back catalogue of hits these guys will be a real highlight of the show with anthems such as ‘Buck It Up’, ‘Fiji Baby’ and the No.1 smash hit ‘Sophie’.
Some of the biggest namesin the New Zealand Pop & RnB scene will also grace The Concert stage including heart-throb Dane Rumble; the smooth singing and fast moving J Williams with a full Dance Crew; the big party styles of hip-hoppers K.One, Tyson Tyler & DJ CXL will battle it out with the Illegal Banditz featuring the gorgeous Brooke; and things will get crazy when the Kidz In Space join the party.
The ‘Girl In Stilettos’ Annah Mac is a delight to see perform live as are the sweet harmonies of Iceland expat Hera who performs alongside local indie group House of Mountain. Keeping it local will be Christchurch’s favourite alt-country 6piece The Eastern and pop-rockers Dukes following the gold certified success of their hits ‘Vampires’ and ‘Self Control’.
Old-schoolers Autozamm have smashed every major rock festival in New Zealand including BDO, Homegrown and Southern Amp; new-comers to the pop scene Late Nyte Hype will bring some fresh energy; as will the rising talent that is 18-year old singer songwriter Massad who has gone from winning Rockquest to placing singles in the Top 40 charts.
This is just for starters, there are more acts still to be announced and some special surprises on the day…
The only way to go is to volunteer 4 hours of your time to a project to help recreate Christchurch. No amount of money can buy you a ticket! How are you getting yours?
