The HSFC Art & Film Festival is sure to be a big success on January 14-20, 2013 in its goal to raise $30000 for the Hanmer Springs Forest Camp. The event will feature well-known New Zealand artist, Anika Moa. Having won numerous awards for her music, yet continuing to be down-to-earth – she will be a great fit for the HSFC Art & Film Festival.
In helping raise $30000 for the Hanmer Springs Forest Camp, it will not just mean upgrades to the facilities, but hope for those students and schools no longer able to afford school camp. With issues such as rising prices for transportation, food, accommodation and activities – school camp can be a difficult thing to make a reality for some schools and students. When compounded by the fact that a majority of the market that attends the Hanmer Springs Forest Camp comes from the Christchurch area, earthquake damage, relocation and decreases in student numbers can make the idea of school camp seem like an out of reach dream.
And so there is the HSFC Art & Film Festival. A week-long event of New Zealand art, the event will be a great opportunity for people of all ages to come and celebrate the creative side of Kiwis. With Art Stalls, Workshops, Art Auction, Kids Zone, Entertainment, Open-Air Cinema and so much more, the HSFC Art & Film Festival will showcase all New Zealand has to offer. The resulting effect of this fundraising event will mean a new fund for underprivileged schools and students to have the opportunity to come to camp.
As such, the HSFC Art & Film Festival is proud to announce that Anika Moa will be one of the feature artists participating in the event. Coming to Canterbury to support the Hanmer Springs Forest Camp, New Zealand artists and students nationwide, Anika Moa encompasses everything New Zealand stands for and it is an honour to have her at this event. Performing on January 20, people can look forward to her acoustic sound during a classic summer evening.
