A once-in-a-lifetime music, arts & cultural event will take place just outside of Cairns as a total solar eclipse graces the skies of far north Queensland this November.
There are few experiences that highlight the elegance of the universe like a TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE, as the earth, sun, and moon converge to produce one of the most amazing displays of galactic precision and grace.
The organisers behind Rainbow Serpent Festival (Australia,) Symbiosis Gathering (USA), Glade Festival (UK) and Mother (Japan) have come together for this once in a lifetime event in far north Queensland to witness this celestial wonder, and they are throwing one amazing party to help entice you there.
With a strong focus on music, art, & healing, this 7-day event will bring together festivalgoers, music lovers and eclipse chasers from around the world to join in a time for celebration and community while viewing a spectacular celestial experience.
With quality international heavyweights already on the line-up, the Ecipse2012 team have outdone themselves for August announcing the hugely popular New Zealand masters of dub Fat Freddy’s Drop and the US’s live electro-gypsy group Beat’s Antique. Also added are the UK’s Iration Steppas, Prince Fatty, Mugo’s HIFI, and Johnny Clarke. The Earth stage will also play host to a huge list of Australia’s favourite dub and roots influenced bands including OKA, Bobby Alu, Kingfisha, The Bird, Ganga Giri, and Mista Savona.
On the more electronic side of things the already packed Moon Stage will now enjoy the patronage of quality US based Eskmo and Vibesquad with their signature phat throbbing beats alongside the rich processed layerings of Atlanta based Richard Devine and the textured atmosphere dubby vibrations of Austin based producer/composer Govinda, and the worldly Shamanic dub beats of Kaminanda.
The Eclipse2012 Healing & Arts village will be a sanctuary of conscious and new-age offerings with visionary artist Alex Grey launching “Net of Being”, his first book in ten years, along with arts collective Tribe13 which includes renowned artists such as Android Jones, Amanda Sage and Martina Hoffmann travelling to Australia to be part on this unique experience. The Village will also be the spot to engage in informative workshops focused on the environment, sustainability, spirituality, well-being, yoga, dance, and more.
