One of New Zealand’s best loved bands The Feelers, are proud to announce a small run of shows with a distinct difference this Christmas.
To start this short run of Christmas shows, The Albany in Auckland plays host to them first on 22nd December before they head down to the South Island, where after a two year absence they return to play The Bedford, Christchurch on Christmas Eve (always a favourite gig of the year) and then finally onto beautiful Kaikoura’s Memorial Hall on the 26th December.
To commemorate the recent release of their live acoustic DVD; “The Feelers, The Naked Sessions”, the band will be performing a half-hour acoustic set of some of their most loved songs as voted by you. So The Feelers will support The Feelers and the public get to vote on the playlist!
Tracks such as the usually aggressive “Larger Than Life”, and the pop classic “Venus” will be performed with a new fervour, in an ambient setting, with the band adopting the use of mandolins, twelve string acoustics and slide guitars.
A short break will allow the audience time to quench their thirst and the bands’ crew to reset the stage for the lads return for another 90 minutes of guitar-fuelled rock, playing the hits New Zealanders have come to know and love over the last fifteen years.
The Feelers encourage you to vote online and to choose the songs you most want to hear played acoustically. Just go to www.facebook.com/thefeelers where you will find a list of songs to choose from, cast your vote and pick the Top 10 songs you want to be on the set-list.
Of course, the boys like to give people a full nights entertainment, having opened recently for "Slash" and releasing their debut record "Shiver Roses", local rock heroes Von Voin Strum will play support for the Christchurch and Kaikoura gigs delivering their trademark hooky riffs and a set of powerhouse songs.
To entice the faithful followers at the Albany Pub These Four Walls will be onstage just prior to The Feelers. They have already supported international acts such as Nickelback, Disturbed and Karnivool, These Four Walls deliver an impressive live show that incorporates their powerful, heavy riffing with soaring melodies and a tight, energetic performance. Check out their No 1 single Passenger and Top 20 album Living to Write The End.
