WOMAD 2013 brings the world to Taranaki in more ways than one next year by offering punters the chance to fly in a friend for the WOMAD experience – from anywhere on the planet.
To win a return trip for their lucky friend, entrants are invited to nominate who they want to bring, and creatively communicate what their friend will love about the festival.
And with over 200 performers from 21 countries creating magic alongside the NOVA ENERGY Taste the World Stage, Sustainable Village, Artist Workshops, the Human Library and KidZone - there’s plenty to choose from.
Nominations are to be submitted via the WOMAD 2013 website and will be uploaded onto the site for voting by the general public; however the final decision will rest with a panel of judges.
Marketing and communications manager, Lisa McMullan, says the judges will be heavily swayed by outstanding creative expressions of what the nominated person will love about WOMAD.
“WOMAD is a vibrant, colourful festival. Entries which ooze creativity and clearly explain what’s to love about WOMAD will have a greater chance of winning.”
The Win a Return Trip to WOMAD Competition opens on 15th November and closes mid-January.
Full terms and conditions are available on the official WOMAD NZ website http://www.womad.co.nz/
Bringing new sounds and experiences from all over the world, WOMAD New Zealand 2013 takes place at New Plymouth’s Brooklands Park and TSB Bowl of Brooklands from 15 to 17 March.
