I See Seaweed is the fifth full length album by one of Australia's most respected and accomplished band The Drones. On this recording The Drones show off all their glory, moving from slow eerie ballads to full on garage rock assaults.
"I See Seaweed captures a singular band in scintillating form, delivering yet another astounding collection of songs." - Rolling Stone Magazine, 4.5 stars
"With Dirty Three-drumming, Bad Seeds-keys and Rowland S.Howard-guitar sounds to study, to grow up with, to now dine out on, The Drones are building on the best their country has had to offer whilst doing their best to tear that same country down in some of the album’s lyrical polemic" - Simon Sweetman, Off The Tracks
The Drones finished their I See Seaweed national album tour earlier this year by obliterating the iconic Sydney Opera House with a blistering set of new songs peppered with long time favourites, then jumped on a plane to play Primavera Festivals in Spain and Portugal. In September they return to the Australian stage for a second national tour to the delight of fans who missed out on tickets to the previous sold out shows. Earlier this year they played their long awaited New Zealand debut live shows opening for Canadian legend Neil Young in both Wellington and Auckland to a warm and rousing reception, gaining a bunch of new Kiwi fans.
“The Drones proved the best Oz import plonked upon us as opening act in a very long while… by crikey they were good.” - NZ Herald
