Taking to the road in November Louis Baker will play a series of intimate stripped back solo shows across the North Island starting in New Plymouth on Thurs 21st November.
Louis released Birds, the first single off his soon to be released self-titled debut EP in September receiving rave reviews online. He then went on to play two back to back sold out shows at Wellingtons Bats Theatre, the first of which sold out within 24 hrs of the tickets being released. His self-title EP was recorded in London with Producer Andy Lovegrove (Breaks Co-Op) following Louis attendance at the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy in New York.
There is no doubt, that a Louis Baker audience becomes an adoring audience. It is Louis’ ability to connect that is seldom seen - a humble nature, humorous banter, soulful soaring vocals and telling open lyrics.

“Baker's beautiful voice, [is] delicate and fragile, yet at the same time imbued with an emotional maturity” - The Next2Shine
“With an elegance and intimacy that is both bold and delicate, ‘Birds’ begins with a light guitar and vocal arrangement that lets Baker’s vocals breathe and sit comfortably without reaching over a convoluted arrangement. It develops in a somewhat surprising way, but continues with the restricted arrangement that lets Baker’s really pretty amazing voice draw you in.” - Vanguard Red
“The elegant simplicity of "Birds" with its delicate string arrangements puts this up there with my favourite tracks of the year, making this an obvious candidate for the NZMusic4U Honour Roll, which it is now part of.” NZMusic4U
