After releasing their singles Seventeen and Pick Up Your Gun earlier this year, The Favoured Few have been hard at work finishing off the other tracks from their self-titled, debut EP. The EP is set to be released this Friday night (22nd November) and to celebrate the boys will be playing a release gig at Backbeat, K’ Road alongside fellow Auckland musicians Bonnie and the Oosh and Steve Ward. Doors open at 8pm and entry is $10, which includes a digital copy of the EP.
The EP is a culmination of their hard work and talent as songwriters and you can clearly hear the influence of bands such as Kings of Leon and the Arctic Monkeys throughout. Just talking to The Favoured Few you can tell that they are extremely excited for people to hear this. “This is a release we’re really proud of. I think it perfectly represents who we are as a band.”
The Favoured Few’s EP is definitely worth a listen. With their own brand of catchy, easy to sing along to Indie rock they are sure to make their own special mark on the New Zealand music scene.
You can check out their music below and catch them this Friday night at Backbeat (100 K’Road).
