Villainy Firing The Ammunition Tour Straight At NZ In 2014

14 August 2014 - 0 Comments

NZ Rock Band Villainy announce THE AMMUNITION TOUR 2014 presented by The Rock.

Following winning the 2013 Vodafone NZ Music Award for Rock Album of Year for their debut album Mode. Set. Clear, The Ammunition Tour will see the band reconnect with their loyal fan base in a series of intimate gigs.

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Monday August 18 at http://www.nztix.co.nz/

The Ammunition Tour will see Villainy deliver the ferocious and energetic sound and no-holds-barred live sets they are famous for. Fans will be treated to the well-known radio hits as well as being the first crowds to hear their new material which is currently being recorded under the guidance of producer Tom Larkin (Shihad) for the new album set to release in early 2015.

Villainy vocalist and guitarist Neill Fraser comments "we've been living and breathing these new tracks in the studio and we're looking forward to thrashing them out, loud and heavy on stages around the country. I've always been a big fan of road testing and this is a great chance to let people know what we've been creating behind closed doors for most of this year."

The Ammunition Tour is a special opportunity to see the band up close and personal in the following venues:

Christchurch, Dux Live - September 26
Auckland, Kings Arms - October 3
Wellington, San Fran – October 4
Palmerston North, The Royal - October 9
New Plymouth, The Mayfair - October 10
Masterton, King Street Live - October 11

Auckland hard rock trio Stitches will join Villainy on the entire tour.

Mode. Set. Clear will be released on vinyl to coincide with the tour. A treat for audiophiles and a visual showcase for fans of legendary graphic artist Storm Thorgerson.

Villainy are one of the most exciting rock bands to emerge from New Zealand in recent times.

Their debut album Mode. Set. Clear released in October 2012. The record hit #1 on the New Zealand Chart and was awarded the iconic prize for 2013 VNZMA Best Rock Album. It also featured four chart topping singles in Alligator Skin, Gather Yourselves, Another Time and Ammunition garnering the band extensive on air play time.

This rock album displayed a sonic diversity rarely witnessed in New Zealand music. Neill comments “we write songs to be played live and loud, what better way to introduce the new songs and bring out our favourites from Mode. Set. Clear. It's been far too long and we're itching to get back out on the road."

The Auckland based four-piece band consists of James Dylan (bass guitar), Neill Fraser (vocals and guitar), Dave Johnston (drums) and Thomas Watts (lead guitar).

Villainy have previously performed alongside huge international acts such as Incubus, Billy Talent and The Offspring, as well as performing at the 2014 Big Day Out and twice on the Homegrown Rock Stage.

Tickets are available from nz tix and go on sale at 9am on Monday August 18. Tickets are also available from The Royal, Masterton Music Works & The Mayfair.
