DJ Mustard, one of the most sought-after producers in music
right now, will play two shows in New Zealand in March 2016!
Born Dijon McFarlane and hailing from Los Angeles, DJ Mustard is a
formidable figure in the US hip-hop scene with 11 top 10 hits, four platinum
singles and four gold singles to his name.
Mustard’s
success lies in his signature style labeled ‘ratchet music’ – a fast and
furious fusion of catchy club-oriented hip-hop. It’s a sound stamped in many of
his hit collaborations with some of the biggest names in the game, from Tyga, 2 Chainz, Young Jeezy, Kid Ink and Y.G.
In 2014, he took over the airwaves with no less than seven songs hitting the Billboard Hot 100chart at the same time. Meanwhile, in the same year, his debut album 10 SUMMERS was met with
critical acclaim, Rolling
Stone Magazine describing it as “hard-hitting, old-school West
Coast hip-hop”.
The self-produced album cemented Mustard’s
place as hip-hop’s ‘go-to man’. Featuring guest appearances from a host of
heavyweights, including Lil
Wayne, Rick
Ross, Wiz
Khalifa, Big
Sean, Yo
Gotti, Nipsey
Hussle, Ty
Dolla $ign and Tinashe,10 SUMMERS was the most downloaded album during the summer of 2014 on Google Play.
