Gig & Concert News - One Love Festival moves to bigger venue

One Love Festival moves to bigger venue

08 January 2016 - 0 Comments

One Love 2016 is moving to a larger venue to cater for outstanding ticket demand – just further reinforcing its reputation as one of the most popular reggae festivals in the Southern Hemisphere.

More than 15,000 people are expected at the reggae extravaganza, which stretches across Waitangi weekend on February 6 and 7. To cater for the increasing demand, One Love will now be held at the Tauranga Domain in the Bay of Plenty – just 200 metres down the road from its original site Wharepai Domain.

The move means an extra 250 VIP tickets (previously sold out) are now available, along with extra GA passes. Punters are encouraged to get these last tickets quickly before they sell out.

Proudly presented by Pato Entertainment, One Love features some of the biggest reggae stars on the planet, from Steel Pulse and Third World, to Common Kings and local legends Herbs and Ardijah, as well as the highly-anticipated return of the much-loved Nesian Mystik.

Those contemplating two days of world-class music, good vibes and sunshine have until January 15 to purchase a two-day GA pass for the discounted rate of $120 (plus bf), after that the two-day passes increase to $135 (plus bf).

Extra VIP passes are now available with the venue move, available at a discounted price of $165 (plus bf) for a two-day VIP pass.

February 2016 marks the fourth anniversary for the One Love festival, which has fast become New Zealand’s most trusted celebration of ‘roots, rock and reggae’. Significantly, it kicks off on the birthday of the godfather of reggae, Bob Marley, (February 6).

Taking to the stage on Saturday is: J Boog, Third World, Collie Buddz, Kora, Nesian Mystik, Sons of Zion, Tomorrow People, Sammy J, Herbs, Swiss, Chad Chambers and DJ Jay Raysik.

On Sunday, February 7, don’t miss: Common Kings, Steel Pulse, Fiji, Katchafire, House of Shem, Ardijah, Three Houses Down, 1814, Che Fu, Paua, Ria Hall, DJ Hemz.

Held in one of New Zealand’s top holiday destinations, Tauranga, you’re never far from a beach and there’s no need to stress about accommodation with the festival offering camping for 3000 people at ASB BAYPARK stadium.

The camping ticket includes chartered bus travel to and from the venue and also a complimentary breakfast to recharge the batteries on Sunday, February 7. All amenities are provided but get in fast, because sites are filling up.

This Year, One Love is giving back to the community – every ticket sold to the festival this year will donate $1 to the One Love charitable partner - Homes Of Hope Charitable Trust.

Homes of Hope Charitable Trust provides an innovative response to children in need of care and protection due to neglect and/or abuse. Based in the Bay, Homes of Hope is an amazing foundation that ensures our future leaders are given every opportunity to grow up in a safe, stable environment – and we’re proud to be working alongside them for One Love 2016!
