Rudimental return this May for their biggest New Zealand tour yet

11 February 2016 - 1 Comment

Frontier Touring are pleased to reveal that that UK four-piece Rudimental will return to Australia and New Zealand this May to play their biggest headline shows to date, joined on tour by fellow UK powerhouse Jess Glynne plus local talent Thandi Phoenix for all Australian shows.

The UK four-piece have gone from strength to strength with the release of 2015’s We The Generation (out now via Warner Music Australia), featuring favourites like Bloodstream, Never Let You Go, Platinum-selling single Lay It All On Me (ft. Ed Sheeran) and the new single Rumour Mill (ft. Anne-Marie & Will Heard).

Rudimental celebrated the album’s release with a near sell-out global tour that included a string of sold out Australian headline shows, explosive performances at Glastonbury, Governors Ball Music Festival, Bonnaroo and T in the Park, plus a coveted support slot on Ed Sheeran’s Australian and New Zealand stadium tour that saw them play to more than 250,000 fans this summer:

‘Rudimental blew my mind with their extraordinary stage presence and musical abilities.’ – AvenoirMag.com

‘No member was stuck in one position for more than ten seconds, and the crowd felt they were part of the action.’ – Music Feeds

‘It was a no frills just talent sort of show’ – IsolatedNation.com

As well as tracks from We The Generation, audiences can look forward to hits from Rudimental’s impressive back catalogue including breakthrough single Feel The Love (ft. John Newman), 2013 BRIT Single of the Year Waiting All Night (ft. Ella Eyre) and Not Giving In (ft. John Newman & Alex Clare) to name just a few.

Joining Rudimental for all shows excluding Adelaide will be fellow Brit Jess Glynne. After making her introduction to the global stage with featured vocals on Clean Bandit’s 4x platinum Rather Be, 2015 saw Glynne become the second British female solo artist in history to have five number-one singles in the UK charts.

Following suit, Glynne’s debut album I Cry When I Laugh (out now via Warner Music Australia) debuted at the top of the UK charts and reached the top ten here in Australia. The album touches on love and loss with an injection of optimism, reflected in platinum selling tracks like Hold My Hand, Real Love, Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself, the gold certified Not Letting Go (with Tinie Tempah) and current smash ‘Take Me Home’. For the first time on this tour, Australians and New Zealanders will be able to see Glynne’s powerhouse vocals and innate songwriting talents come alive on stage.

‘…subtle yet powerful, tender but determinedly down to earth’ – The Guardian

Rounding out the line-up for Rudimental’s Australian shows will be Sydney’s own Thandi Phoenix. A refreshing soulful sensation, Phoenix has cultivated a sound that is equal parts raw and enchanting and has already impressed audiences at Bluesfest, SoulFest and Splendour In The Grass. Current single Come Around is the first taste of exciting things to come, setting the tone for her highly anticipated debut EP – lucky audiences on Rudiental’s Australian tour will be amongst the first to hear slices from the forthcoming release.

Picture a packed stage full of profoundly talented artists and you have Rudimental.  A cacophony of backup singers and musicians line the stage surrounding Rudimental’s four founding members - Amir Amor, Piers Agget, Kesi Dryden and Leon Rolle - who bring all they’ve got to their performances.

With a history of sold out shows in Australia and New Zealand, fans best act quick to secure their tickets to a tour that is guaranteed to be jam-packed with thumping rhythms and mass sing-alongs – don’t miss out!
