Warren Maxwell explains his excitement for getting back out on the touring
circuit, “We really want to take Citizen out on the road again. We still really love those songs and when you release an
album and tour at the same time, it all zooms by so quickly, there is no time
to drink it all in. We are looking forward to doing exactly that this time.”
The tour will be accompanied with a radio friendly length version album track This Road that
features drummer Ben Wood’s on vocals. Ben came on board with Trinity Roots for Citizen, as
an already accomplished and in demand session drummer, whose fragile and
emotive voice had previously gone unnoticed.
On hearing Ben sing during the recording process Warren Maxwell had to ask
“Holy Sh*t, bro, can you sing that song please?”.
Intending to play music from across the Trinity Roots catalogue alongside the
latest album, Citizen,
the night will be a festoon of roots hypnotica filled with harmonies and their
unique signature fusion of reggae, slow-funk and jazz exploration.
