Aotearoa Drum and Bass legends The Upbeats join forces with fellow scene stalwarts Shapeshifter to deliver Uncharted, the first instalment from the forthcoming EP, No Sleep ‘Til New Zealand.

Uncharted bears all the hallmarks of a Summer hit, with the emotive ebb and flow of P.Digggs’ vocals leading the way towards some serious dancefloor-driving drops. It’s a formidable first release from the four-track EP which releases 17 January 2020.

The continuation of an EP series which began in 2018, No Sleep ‘Til New Zealand further explores the global collaboration concept which originally took The Upbeats’ Jeremy Glenn and Dylan Jones on a journey to Japan and Iceland, with the objective of infusing local talent and culture into new tracks for a for a fresh take on the creative process.

“The idea of No Sleep ’Til is to channel our excitement and inspiration from our travels, and capture that creativity in the moment. To write music in new environments, and try and draw as much inspiration from our surroundings and collaborative partners as possible.”

Bringing this concept back to Aotearoa for round two, No Sleep ‘Til New Zealand celebrates the talent right here on our doorstep and channels it into four brand new tracks that encapsulate home.

“New Zealand is a beautiful country with so much to offer, and has so much incredible talent including the legendary Tiki Taane, and our long time brothers Shapeshifter - it’s been an honour to work with both of them for this release. We also couldn’t resist getting our good friend Jack (Workforce/SpectraSoul) involved in the project as well.”

Having just completed a solid stint of touring which has seen the duo perform in the USA, Canada, UK and the Netherlands in only a short few weeks, The Upbeats now prepare for a NZ summer tour alongside Shapeshifter, MC Tiki and Sunshine Sound System.
