Das Ben is reinventing the rules of what can be done with just an acoustic guitar, some interesting stories, and a whole lot of energy (and quite a bit of beer). He has been playing his own peculiar brand of acoustic punk around Wellington for years, and is forming quite a following. His songs contain stories, thought-provoking images, and touch of kiwiana humour. But what makes Das Ben different from the usual crowd of generic singer / songwriters is his huge sound and in-your-face voice. Like the Ramones unpulugged or Lou Reed having an OK day, Das Ben commands attention on stage and his songs fill the whole venue, enabling him to fit right in between full rock bands, as well as in cafes. DAS BEN's DEBUT CD 'MILLION MILES AWAY' is available now in lots of nz record stores and through www.smokecds.com
