Chanelle is a New Zealand singer/songwriter currently based in Melbourne. Her latest release 'The Way I Found You' is available now on itunes, along with her two solo albums ‘Better Than Alone’ in 2006 and ‘Since Yesterday’ in 2008. Since yesterday features the song ‘Dear Jon’ which won the 2007 New Zealand Songwriters’ Trust Award, judged by songwriter Don McGlashan.
In 2009/2010 Chanelle travelled around Australia, Canada and America collecting inspiration for her upcoming 3rd album. She also studied in Boston with author of Writing Better Lyrics – Pat Pattison.
The songs that pour from her are predominantly piano-driven, but on a cold winter’s evening you’ll find Chanelle curled up in bed with an acoustic guitar. Her lyrics are fresh and well crafted - yet sound conversational and timeless. Her influences include Rickie Lee Jones, Leonard Cohen, Jewel and Carole King.
