Auckland
Well I've been singing all my life, actually I did my first performance at the age of 3. I picked up the guitar for the first time when I was 14, and it was not long after that I wrote my first song. When I was 17 I started making a living playing around bars and weddings and things down in sunny Marlborough. I came up to Auckland in 2001 to do a couple of competitions, one the York St acid test, which I made it through 2 heats and managed to make the top 6, which proved to be a valuable experience as that was where I found my wonderful manager and very entertaining friend Grant Hislop. The other competition I entered was the Ovation Rockshop songwriter of the year award which I came first place in. That was pretty cool cos I won a $4,399 guitar which was such a bonus! Since then I've been living in Auckland, gigging around, writing songs and meeting all kinds of wonderful people. I'm currently recording an album with Rod and Murray from Goodshirt which will be out later this year, first single will be out August.
