After the successful release of his album WLKNZ, Dharmarat had made no plans to release new music in 2020. Instead his focus was going to be put on the rap group he is a part of Valleyside Boys. But like most musicians, lockdown gave him the time to create. Rather than delay the release until next year, he decided it needs to be heard now, with his first release Roam Ft. Elder. The track was first shared during Melodownz' Iso-Cypha with Church Leon (Church & AP) and Diggy Dupe.
Dharmarat has never been afraid to be vocal on how he feels. With so much discussion around issues in the industry (and the world) at the moment, after being a part of the scene for as long as he has, it is no surprise that he had to say his piece too.
“It's basically a stream of thought over a bassy ELDER-produced beat. It’s just me speaking on sell-out rappers, where I stand in the rap game and fake friends in the industry. I'm coming for mine.”
Dharmarat (Adam Tukiri) is a hard-working rapper and producer from South Auckland who has created quite a name for himself, through his hard-hitting beats to his unforgiving delivery in his music. He pulls the listener in with his perspective on life and relentless aggression on his more upbeat music. There is just as much range in his discography as he has projects under his belt, having released 21 projects if you include his work with his group Valleyside Boys.
Dharmarat isn't done with more in the works for 2020.
