Join us, the bNets, on December 16th, 2006 for the first ever live broadcast of the annual awards. What better way to celebrate the best local music from the last year or so than to let the whole nation come to the party?
The awards will be broadcast live on all the bNet stations from the Northern Steamship Co, with live performances, real-time interviews with the winners, and of course a nail-bitingly live award presentation!
And if it wasn’t enough to just have an awards ceremony, we are taking over several different venues that night in Downtown Auckland to provide you with all manner of bands and DJs, including a number of the nominated acts. How about that indeed.
Since the first awards in ‘98 we’ve encouraged the public voting system, thus ensuring the bNet awards are truly reflective of what the people want. The nominees will be announced shortly, and we’re excited to announce that we’ve added regional awards to the list this year. In addition to the usual “best male vocalist”, “best whatever”… this year each station will be awarding someone they feel has done particularly well on their home turf.
Anyway, watch this space for further revelations on the awards and the post awards extravaganza – it’s all very exciting!
