Itches to Scratch is a new track by Taylah born out of gratitude and marvel for all things human. Taylah introduces her crisp soulful take on the highs and lows of the human experience.
Taylah hails from Kerikeri in the Far North where she quickly became immersed in the music industry; opening for bands such as, Fly My Pretties, Dragon and Troy Kingi (for whom she was also a backing vocalist). She then moved to Wellington and caught the ear of Producer, Toby Lloyd of Tiny Triumph Recordings (Louis Baker, Hollie Smith, Shapeshifter) who brought the track to life.
Itches to Scratch is refreshingly honest and authentic, and it blooms at a time of worldwide unrest. The track is a feel-good, soul-food experience, which is accompanied with her visually hypnotic music video, directed by Lee Gingold to be released on November 12th.
Taylah’s updates on her single release can be found on her official Facebook page and Instagram page.
Speaking of her process: “I wrote of this song sitting on a coastal beach in Wellington, feeling compelled to express my gratitude for the things that I have in life. Including the uncomfortable things. The very fact I get to breathe air and pump blood into my veins is reason enough to be grateful.”
This fresh, new track invites the idea of what to expect from this emerging artist.
