Swampland are back after a two year hiatus with Cheatin’ Girl, the first track to be released from the forthcoming new album Sinners.
Swampland, lead by Tony Daunt, is a bit cheeky and has a lot of swagger. Daunt has been in Swampland since 2012 and seen it through many incarnations of band members, life events and musical styles.
Swampland, formed in 2012, has had a few line-up changes, one of the most memorable being when guitar player Thomas Landon-Lane announced he was off to Germany to hang out with Will Wood for six months. They put the Swampland on ice, Tom dropped Horace the cat off at Sean Reid's (Bass Player-Galveston), and headed for Europe. After almost two years, Tony was heading over to Sean Reid's place to feed Horace and it occurred to him Tom might not be coming back.
Tony had recently connected with Rik Fisk, took it as a sign, and voila! Swampland rises from the ashes! Swampland has now evolved into the most fluid collaborative unit it has ever been.
No objective or formula has been set; prolific in song creation.
Daunt says, “Jamie and Sean( Rundle) are the strongest rhythm section. They fit together like a glove, I don't think they have ever had a conversation about how they do what they do, they just do it - This new Swampland album is Rock’n’Roll! ”
