The 2020 Ding Dong Lounge Bands Competition Grand Final takes place this Saturday

The date is set and the finalists have been selected – Auckland’s Ding Dong Lounge will be crowning a winner for the acclaimed 2020 Bands Competition at the Grand Final this Saturday 14 November.

With an incredible range of prizes up for grabs, 4 of the greatest up and coming NZ rock acts will battle it out on the stage in what will be a truly unmissable event.

Who will join the ranks of previous winners AnimalheadFallstateDead Beat Boys and Enter Venus? All will be revealed on Saturday night.

Finalists

Channeled

Channeled are a four piece rock band made up of three high school music teachers and an ex-student. By bringing a passion for live music, songwriting and performance, Channeled have made a mark with their high energy live shows. 

Having only emerged within the last year, the band released their debut late last year and have a new one out end of November. They give everything they have on stage and in their music.

White Noise Mafia

White Noise Mafia is a 4 piece heavy alternative rock band established in July 2020 and based in Auckland, New Zealand. The band strives to put on an all-out show with heavy riffs, crushing beats, booming low end and catchy vocals to hook the listener into our performance. They take inspiration from bands such as Linkin Park, Blindspott, BMTH, Slipknot etc. In the long run they hope to leave a lasting impact on the local scene and make a name for themselves.

Cafe Fistfight

Cafe Fistfight are New Zealand's leading Cafe-themed Progressive rock band. Dishing out bopping classics like Service with a Smile and King Hit Quiche, they confidently blur the lines between subtle acoustic vibes and hard-hitting grooves to form a uniquely impactful sound.

Glass Throne

Young up-and-comers Glass Throne was formed in August 2018, after all three members met while studying Audio Engineering at SAE in Auckland. Since then Glass Throne has been consistently composing new music and performing around the local Auckland scene. They have released three singles online; The Top, Burn and Ghosts with more releases on the horizon.

The Ding Dong Lounge is Auckland’s premier Rock bar. Together with upstairs live music venue Dead Witch, they play host to a stunning array of local acts every week of the year.
