We Will Ride Fast Unleashes New Single – ‘The Real Kids’ + Video

22 January 2021 - 0 Comments

Tauranga psych alt-pop artist We Will Ride Fast is back, unleashing the first single from his upcoming album, Emotional Molecules. The track, The Real Kids, is a melodic and gritty gaze at adult adolescence, heightened by an official video based on a performance art piece by Liam Banbury; a raw, peach-hewed fever-dream.

Speaking of The Real Kids, which was originally written as part of his earlier solo project, The Queen’s Birthday, Kyle Sattler explains, “The Real Kids is really about time and staying young at heart. The world is led by older generations when it is the youth who have the most time alive and who must deal with the decisions made.

How, as we grow old, do we stay young enough 'in mind' to affect the right choices for the world we live in. There is, as with most of my songs underlying themes around consciousness, (ontology) (metaphysics) does the self continue on after death moving on in short waves?.. as time unfolds, who are the real kids, now?

We Will Ride Fast, the solo project of Kyle Sattler, is pure bass-driven alt-pop awash with melodic reverberations and lush chaos. His upcoming album, Emotional Molecules is due for release on February 1st, with an LP release show on Saturday January 30th at Hop House, Tauranga.
