Singer-Songwriter Madeleine Howard today launches the music video for her single Reaching Out, taken from her debut EP Just Reaching Out, released back in August 2020.
The third single and Howard’s personal favourite from the EP, the music video is the first from the up and coming singer. Directed by Christchurch film maker Kirsty Cameron, the video tells the story of life long friends going their separate ways after a falling out.
After the successful release of her debut film Though I Walk, Cameron has put everything into creating a heartfelt music video for Howard’s personal song. "This song is something very special." Cameron says. "You can tell these words are written from a painful, personal experience. I knew we needed a video clip to reflect this. The resulting music video is sweet, tugs on the heart strings and most of all captures the reality we all face when a relationship breaks down."
"This is a special song for me." Howard says. "It's about two people who I was once really close with and for various reasons have since drifted from. The song is my way of essentially 'reaching out' to them."
The release of her EP saw the debut single No More being chosen for New Zealand On Air’s New Tracks Compilation in May 2020. The compilation of new songs from New Zealand Artists is made available to broadcast media. As well as five star reviews from Muzic.net.nz and NZ Musician, this new singer songwriter is one to watch.
The music video for Reaching Out is available now. Howard’s debut EP Just Reaching Out is available on all streaming sites.
