Bakers Eddy Mark Their Return With New Single '21'

02 March 2021 - 0 Comments

Melbourne-via-Wellington four-piece Bakers Eddy have marked the start of a fresh and exciting chapter, today releasing their irresistibly catchy new anthem for the new year, 21. Produced by Oscar Dawson, the single arrives on the eve of three Victorian headline shows for the band.

LISTEN: 21 by Bakers Eddy

21 is a dance between the uncertainty of growing up and the reflection of youth; what starts off like a ballad soon bursts into a cathartic mass singalong for the times, a sensitive yet carefree homage to all the unknowns ahead for early 20-somethings. Packed full of the band’s signature punch, 21 continues Bakers Eddy’s reign as one of the most exciting local bands!

In the words of lead singer Ciarann Babbington:

“To me it symbolises the shift from teenage innocence to adult ‘bullshit’ and all the fear, excitement and uncertainty that goes with a major change like that.”

Aside from the release of their 2020 Christmas banger, A Verry Merry Christmas, 21 is the first single since their March 2020 song T-Shirt, which followed 2019 singles On My Own and Can’t Afford It.

In lieu of live shows, Bakers Eddy spent much of last year writing and recording their highly anticipated debut album, due in 2021 (watch this space!).

Garnering a reputation for being one of the most exciting new live acts in the country – don’t miss your chance to catch the band on their 21 single launch tour.
