Melbourne-via-Wellington four-piece Bakers Eddy have marked the start of a fresh and exciting chapter, today releasing their irresistibly catchy new anthem for the new year, 21. Produced by Oscar Dawson, the single arrives on the eve of three Victorian headline shows for the band.

21 is a dance between the uncertainty of growing up and the reflection of youth; what starts off like a ballad soon bursts into a cathartic mass singalong for the times, a sensitive yet carefree homage to all the unknowns ahead for early 20-somethings. Packed full of the band’s signature punch, 21 continues Bakers Eddy’s reign as one of the most exciting local bands!
In the words of lead singer Ciarann Babbington:
“To me it symbolises the shift from teenage innocence to adult ‘bullshit’ and all the fear, excitement and uncertainty that goes with a major change like that.”
Aside from the release of their 2020 Christmas banger, A Verry Merry Christmas, 21 is the first single since their March 2020 song T-Shirt, which followed 2019 singles On My Own and Can’t Afford It.
