A bright and breezy tune that’s got dancefloor filler written all over it, Unlovable showcases La Felix’s penchant for turning out genre-bending, melody-melding gems. It follows on from the recent release of Take Care Of You featuring Gloria Kim.
Citing Oliver Nelson, Louis The Child and Cosmo’s Midnight as sources of inspiration, La Felix has a stack of killer tracks and remixes to his name, including his first major single Delicious, which landed a spot on the Netflix comedy drama series Insatiable.
On Unlovable La Felix teams up with Emily Terran - a 21-year-old New York-based singer-songwriter who released her first EP at the age of 16, followed by a feature with Aire Atlantica through Ultra Records.
"I wanted to make something quite light, fun and quirky for a change and Emily wrote the perfect top line for the track,” says La Felix.
“A song about someone being super unlovable and downright annoying."
Funded by New Zealand on Air, the Unlovable single is accompanied by an equally compelling video, directed by Ashley Pitman.
La Felix has since amassed over 20 million streams across all DSP platforms thanks to his growing popularity as a remixer and his successful singles. He has done remixes for a variety of artists including RAC, 12AM, DCUP, Dylan Rockoff, The Shadowboxers, My Brothers And I, The Funk Hunters, Penny & Sparrow, Todd Carey ft. Shwazye and 88/89.
