Delivering a further taste of the album, The Look and the Feel champions the indie pop hits that the band is known for. Recorded at The Lab with Tom Healy in 2020 between numerous lockdowns, the song features full horn parts by Tim Stewart (Supergroove) and anthemic vocals with a driving rhythm section, carrying the hooks home.

The single is accompanied by an ethereal, single-take video visualiser directed by band leader Rob Hartnell. Beachware give their take on time-tested West Coast forests featuring lilac tuxedos and pink guitars. Watch video

The group, containing members Rob Hartnell, Alex Selkirk-Hanna, Julia Morris, James Mac, and Josh Nicholas have worked continuously on music projects since 2017, and the Beachware brand is evidence of this. Known as a slick and spirited live act, the band has spent 2020 on festival line-ups, supporting various artists including Billy Idol, and playing a sold out headline show in Auckland’s Galatos Basement.

Now, The Look and the Feel bridges the group towards their full length release, expected October 2021.
