Music News - Shihad’s Cover Of 'I Got You' Is Longest #1 On New Zealand Rock Radio

Kiwi rockers Shihad have taken out the record for longest #1 on New Zealand rock radio with their cover of the Split Enz classic I Got You sitting in the top spot for 26 weeks!
Shihad’s version of I Got You was released on 13th November 2020, reaching #1 on the Radioscope Rock Chart two weeks’ later and remaining there for over six months.
Shihad are proud to have sat atop the rock radio chart for a ground-breaking 26 weeks. Drummer Tom Larkin says:
“Holding a number one spot is never a bad time!!! So stoked to see our interpretation of one of our favourite songs become so strongly supported, thanks to everyone for listening and of course to all rock radio and Split Enz for writing such a cracking tune!!”
Shihad’s re-worked I Got You features on the Split Enz tribute album True Colours, New Colours, featuring a range of Kiwi and Aussie artists recreating Split Enz’s definitive album.
