After returning recently from Scotland, Miss Leading has released her debut album Minor Thing. Drawing on her career in human rights and environmental fields her songs explore topics of race, feminism, sexuality the environment and getting through UK's never-ending lockdowns.
Miss Leading is an electronic music producer, singer and poet. Composing music on a unique Wellington made synthesiser (the Sugar Cube prototype for the Synthstrom Deluge). Inspired by a range of artists from underground Hip-Hop artist Kojaque to pop idol Billie Eilish as well 90's hero's Salt-n-Pepa, Miss Leadings music aims to widen your mind while moving your body with a mix of pop, hip-hop, spoken ambient and dance tracks.
Since returning to New Zealand, Miss Leading has performed at festivals across the North and South Island and is the founder of the Eastern Sound Collective a network of Wellington musicians who aim to support Asian artists who are underrepresented in western music.
