Monty Bevins is proud to share the release of his newest track, Elderado, an intricately finger-picked and soulful offering plunging the listener into its melody, and pulling them along into the journey at the single's core; what it is for a travelling musician to experience the highs of performing, the galvanised relationships made on tour, the intoxicating and exhausting ebbs and flows.
"A few weeks on the road together is worth years of getting to know each other in 'normal' terms. A group of individuals that otherwise may not have ever found themselves in the same room - sharing a van, stages, nerves, pressure, fatigue, doubt, adrenaline, euphoria. There's no replacing those hours, stitched into one's character.
"Elderado is written from the perspective of a grappling lonesome man fighting his way through a new landscape, searching for that sense of aliveness, confronted by his own shadow, reflecting on the mad, exciting, full life of a touring circus".
Monty Bevins is an Aotearoa-based singer-songwriter known for his touching and spirited performances, whose soul-folk songs ask the big questions while telling the small stories. His rich, warm vocals and articulate guitar grooves perfectly accompany his lyrics, where Bevins digs out and distills themes of tenderness, personal revolution and adventure, with his inspiration drawn from the stories he hears and people he meets as he tours.
His full album, Time To Bide, is due for release on the 13th of August, 2021.
