Microsoft New Zealand in association with LOOP Recordings Aot(ear)oa has released the winning studio single of the Rise & Shine competition. The winning song 'More Of Me' by Brooke Singer was produced by the New Zealand musician Adi Dick of Fly My Pretties fame and was performed by Ragamuffin Children.
Brooke's entry was selected from over 400 entries by a panel of judges including Adi Dick from Fly My Pretties, Nick D a C4 and b-FM presenter and Mikee Tucker founder of LOOP Recordings
Aot(ear)oa.
Tucker says the strength of Brooke's song writing and quality of Adi's producing ensure this single will achieve commercial radio success.
"You only have to listen to this song for five seconds to realise its intrinsic beauty. A stunning debut for these young up and comers."
Nick D was selected as one of the judges because of his vast musical knowledge and passion for the industry.
"It is fantastic to see an obviously talented song writer and composer given a chance to test herself in the commercial music market. To level the playing field and let talent shine is great."
Brooke's winning package included flying to Wellington where she spent two days of recording time at Trident Studios with Adi Dick and a studio engineer. The song was then professionally mixed and mastered at Trident Studios. Brooke also received a Hi-End Windows Vista PC laptop and a $2000 music equipment voucher.
David Rayner, Windows Marketing Manager, Microsoft New Zealand says: "The Rise and Shine concept was born when we were working on the New Zealand launch of Windows Media Player 11 and Windows Vista. During the Rise and Shine competition we have heard some real grass-roots Kiwi talent and helping Brooke bring a commercial single to market is really exciting. Microsoft is proud of the result of this year's competition and will continue to support the local music scene."
DigiRAMA, a New Zealand owned and operated music download site, will for a limited time offer free downloads of the winning track for use on Microsoft Windows Media Player.
