Stewart Allan is a multi-talented Kiwi musician signed to Rattle Records. From singing behind the Iron Curtain, touring Japan and New Zealand as well as directing and writing music for stage and screen, he sings, plays guitar, piano, and sitar. Glow is the latest single from his forthcoming album, 9 Rooms.
Glow reflects those times in life where everything appears wondrous and new, periods when our sense of the future is filled with optimistic mystery. It’s about making first tentative steps and the anticipation of milestones, and while it can, literally, be read in terms of childhood experiences, figuratively it reflects the birth of all ideas, particularly artistic ones.

“Animation was the perfect visual accompaniment for a narrative about innocence and discovery, and at times in my life when I am compelled to concentrate on the things that are most important, this song always reminds me that the most precious gift is family/whanau, ”says Stewart.
Recent singles and videos for Shall We Dance and Silver Wings showcase what sublime musical acuity we can expect from the 9 Rooms album - coming soon.
9 Rooms album covers 9 geographical spaces or rooms, each a mini-universe based on significant experiences Stewart has had over the past few years. Each one represents a significant junction in his life up to this point. Lyrically the music traverses themes of loss, change, death, relationships, intimacy, war, and the ultimate questions of existence.
9 Rooms - Available in September!
