With a highly addictive chorus; equally infectious melodies; punchy drums and guitar, Sweet Goodbyes takes its influence from strong female 70's rock bands. Lyrically, it delves into dealing with a toxic relationship.
“We decided to approach Sweet Goodbyes from a playful perspective. The lyric that inspired the song title is, ‘I call you out on all your lies but you wake me up with sweet goodbyes’ – it’s about a person drifting in and out of your life when it suits them,” says Marianne.
Sweet Goodbyes is co-written by Marianne and Zoe Mills, produced by Marianne and Emily Wheatcroft-Snape, and features Marianne, her brother Thomas Leigh and Nathaniel Selway on the instrumentation. “We’re really proud of what we’ve created”, said Marianne about the catchy track, as it’s a taste of what’s to come on the upcoming EP.
