Saint Lane unveils dark and haunting new single, 'Los Palms'

Weekends in South Korea with Rick Ross, pandemic touring with Lime Cordiale and an impromptu stand-up set at the biggest comedy festival in the world. There's only one Saint Lane.

The Fijian Kiwi who now resides on the Gold Coast today releases his new single, Los Palms.

“The Friday the 13th release date is not by coincidence. The sharp drums and horror violins create an atmosphere straight out of an Ari Aster movie,” laughs Saint Lane.

Los Palms is the haunting new single from the upcoming Rainbows End EP and it replays a dark part of Lane’s life.

Los Palms is a pretty wild story,” says Lane.

“In 2019 my Dad unexpectedly passed away and three of my closest friends conspired to steal the money left to me in his will (which was by no means a large amount of money). This is a topic I addressed in my song
When Did We Grow Up? but that song is about me moving on from the situation and turning the other cheek… This peaceful take was not my immediate reaction,” he continues.

“I heard the main conspirator (who I refer to as “The Devil” in Los Palms) was going to be attending an event at Lost Palms, a bar on the Gold Coast… So I went to the bar with every intention to attack this person after the emotional trauma they had just put myself and my family through. I sat and waited for him all night and he never arrived. Los Palms is the story of what was going through my mind as I sat and waited at the bar for "the devil" to arrive.”

Los Palms features on the upcoming EP - Rainbows End, set for release later in 2021. Despite Lane’s troubled past and the tumultuous present that is COVID 2021, this year has also been extremely positive for Lane with the birth of the Saint Lane hit radio show The Palate Cleanse on Radio Metro and the creation of his sophomore EP, which also features the recently released single Toothbrush.

Toothbrush is still growing at radio in New Zealand and has had support from Mai FM, Niu FM, ZM and Sniffers, as well as solid JJJ support in Australia.

Saint Lane has established himself as a dynamic potency in the Australian and New Zealand music industry. Since his inception, Lane has collaborated with Andrew Dawson (Kanye West’s producer) and Mike Malichicoff (Kids See Ghosts' producer), and locally featured on tracks with Bootleg Rascal, Robbie Miller, and Travy P.

Los Palms is available worldwide on Friday, August 13.
