Clap Clap Riot have released their video for It’s Alright and announced rescheduled tour dates for 2022.
Produced and directed by Karlie Fisher and Sacha Stejko, the video concept came over a coffee and conversation at Auckland’s Fed Deli.
“It was about my own interpretation of the lyrics of the song, fear about the climate, the flooding that was happening, covid lockdowns, claustrophobia and anxiety,” says ‘It’s Alright’ video director, Karlie Fisher.
“The amazing DOP Sacha Stejko and I wanted to keep the look really simple but create beautiful shapes with the plastic in a lovely organic way as a bit of a reframe of what Steve would actually be singing about.,” says Fisher.
“On a cold Sunday morning in 2008, a band walked into The Lab and woke everyone in the room up. It was, of course, the boys from Clap Clap Riot. We go all the way back to that first morning and have been creating music videos on and off since then, which is why when I say things like 'I'm thinking of covering you in plastic to create a feeling of anxiety they just nod.”
