Music News - HDU Review From British Fest

30 April 2002 - 0 Comments

This just in from Turbine Crew from a British site who were at the festival 'All Tomorrow's Parties' event:

Can't dance to the High Dependency Unit, mind you, but that's not really a problem. You might be thinking from the name alone that they make filthy scuzzy heroin music, and to be honest you'd have a point. However, there's rather more to them than that, given how convincingly they fill the yawning chasm between Sigur Ros and the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club with their exaggerated guitar runs, fuggy drums and beautiful sculpture and, frankly, we feel rather foolish for never having explored them before. The best band we've heard from New Zealand bar none, and the revelation of the weekend.
