Music News - Announcing the New Single 'Sunday Morning Paper Writer' From Emmett Sutherland

Sunday Morning Paper Writer is Emmett Sutherland's debut single. In the words of one early reviewer "The lyrics are an acute observation of that dedicated obsessive whose letters are works of art" (Paul Judge). The iceberg on the cover alludes to the writer being driven to compose letters about the changing climate. The song will be released on the 12th of November and will be available on all major streaming platforms including Spotify and Apple Music.
Sunday Morning Paper Writer was recorded at The Surgery, produced and mixed by Toby Lloyd at Tiny Triumph Studios and mastered by Mike Gibson at Munki Studios. The track features Emmett Sutherland on guitar and vocals, Eugene Wolfin on vocals, keyboard and organ, Ruby Moyes on Vocals, Henry Smithers on Bass, Josh Dominikovich on Drums and Rama Bussion on Guitar.
There will be a single release show at St. Peter's Hall in Paekakariki on the 19th of November with support from Flying Jaranas.
Emmett Sutherland cares about the environment. He works as a carpenter and is training as an architectural technician with the long term goal of building affordable and healthy wooden apartments built to passivhaus principles. Emmett is a trained musicologist and music therapist and also enjoys printmaking.
