COVID-19 has had a significant impact musicians, restricting their ability to create, engage with audiences and earn a living. Music is core to Naked Accounting & Naked PR's business models, and the two companies would like to do as much as possible to support musicians during this time.
"We work with many musicians, we have employed many others, our sister business is music focused and we have chosen to base our business in a community with close ties to music" says Robert Westall, Managing Director of Naked Accounting. "We owe a significant debt of gratitude to musicians for what they give us and the community as a whole."
In response, Naked Accounting have launched their Musicians Initiative, and would like to offer free accounting and business support to musicians and bands within Aotearoa.
Support includes the following services:
- Help understanding the Wage Subsidy Scheme and other Covid-19 financial support.
- General tax advice - for example, what are claimable expenses.
- GST advice.
- Structure advice - should I be a sole trader or a registered company?
- Budgeting.
