19-year-old UK-born musician Ryan Farrell, currently residing in Auckland, New Zealand, releases new single Call You Friend (pop-rock, indie pop).
Call You Friend is produced by his dad Robert Farrell, who, as a musician in the '80's and 90's, worked with some of the big names in production such as Jimmy Iovine (who produced John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen) and John Leckie (who produced Radiohead, Stone Roses), etc. so learned some things from them. The song itself was recorded and produced from a small bedroom-turned-music room from their house in Hamilton, with all tracks performed by either Ryan or his dad. Some of the main influences heard in his music are David Bowie and Pulp, but he also enjoys the likes of U2, Coldplay, and Harry Styles. Although still early in his career, Ryan is focused on developing his sound and building up an audience who enjoy his style of music.
In the future, Ryan aims to get a band together and do some live shows (in between University work) and release more music.
