The Nashville-based native of Gore has spent her time outside the United States putting the finishing touches on her new album, Outsider, slated for release on American label - Mesa Bluemoon Recordings. The album was recorded mostly in her musical collaborator Mark Punch’s Nashville studio before the world closed its doors due to Covid.
She’ll be unveiling her gorgeous new single, Without You, from her forthcoming album.
Without You is an engaging, endearing earworm of a track, propelled by a jaunty, swinging beat, set off by a striking strings arrangement courtesy of Nashville dream team, producer Rick Price and orchestrator Kristin Wilkinson, and played beautifully by an all-star cast of Nashville’s hippest studio musos including Fred Eltringham (Sheryl Crow, Carrie Underwood), Dan Dugmore (James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt) and Kristen Wilkinson (Chris Stapleton, Neil Young, John Prine).
Jackie has fashioned a highly credible career in her adopted United States, where prominent reviews laud her for “crafting some of the most beautiful compelling Americana today”, no small achievement by the girl from Gore.
Her accessible tunes, relateable lyrics and intimate, soulful vocal delivery have made her an audience favourite in venues huge and small throughout the US and Europe, where she is equally mesmerising as a solo artist, in her duo with Mark Punch or with a rocking band behind her.
The sublime quality of Jackie’s songwriting and her genuine, down-to-earth Kiwi personality have led to her sharing stages with an impressive resumé of apex artists, from Bonnie Raitt and Boz Skaggs to Chris Isaak and Foreigner.
Without You is set for release on November 6.
