DEBUT EP ACHE DUE OUT FRIDAY 26 NOVEMBER – PRE-ORDER HERE
Rising indie-pop talent Jaz Paterson today releases the video for LA, the latest single off her soon to be released debut EP Ache.
The rooftop shoot took place on a gorgeous spring day, and Jaz wanted a smooth and simple vibe - an overall aesthetic which is reflected in the effortless look of the video. “The LA video shoot day was so special to me. I was stoked to work with a great team of talented people on the day, and we were excited to collaborate together in making a video that just felt easy and beautiful.”
Jaz continues, LA has a simple message that's important to me, so I wanted to convey that through the video by connecting with the camera.” A catchy, beat-driven track of electro-coated synth-pop, ‘LA’ speaks to the highly relatable and very human condition of wanting to run away from your problems - only to realise the futility of it all as Jaz sings, “it don’t matter where you are, if you’re running away from growing up”.
“It’s about being afraid to grow up, to face the reality of life, wanting to escape from everyday life and routines, the day to day people and places that surround me”, says Jaz. “It’s about realizing that even if I can jump on a plane and be somewhere “better”, all of the parts of myself I try to escape from are still with me. All of the messy, ugly, beautiful and good parts of me – are with me wherever I am in the world.”
To date, two singles have already been released off Ache - the intimately revealing track Lonely, and tender break-up song Ache. With Jaz’s music career starting to heat up, be sure to keep your ears open and an eye out for this up and coming new talent who is sure to capture your heart.
Ache is due for release on Friday 26 November, so don’t miss out and get your ticket to see her perform live at the Wunderbar in Christchurch.
