Would you pay 47 bucks to see Evermore live? What about if we chuck in Atlas, Brooke Fraser, Hollie Smith and The Mint Chicks for nothing extra?
Yep? Then you’d better hurry up and touch base with Ticketek to grab your seat for New Zealand music’s biggest music show of the year.
It’s Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards time again and there’s a stellar line-up of the country’s top talent to entertain.
Funny-man Dai Henwood is this year’s MC introducing possibly the best line up of live talent the long-running awards have ever achieved.
It’s the second year music fans have been able to get in to the awards event and if 2006 is anything to go by, demand for seats will be hot. For many years the event – at Auckland’s Aotea Centre THE EDGE® on October 18 – was a music industry-only do.
Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards spokesperson Campbell Smith says that for those lucky enough to get tickets the on-stage entertainment will be spectacular.
“Evermore and Brooke are making the trip home from Australia especially for the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards and together with Atlas, Hollie and The Mint Chicks, make for an awesome live line-up.
“And you get to see the country’s best artists take home their Tuis.”
Plus, there is going to be heaps of action around the red carpet in Aotea Square with loads of free entertainment before the event.
The Vodafone Music Lounge kicks off from 4pm warming up the crowd. The lounge will be a one stop interactive showcase of the best DJs, MCs, visual artists, and FREE ringtones via Bluetooth technology. There’s even a beauty lounge, to ensure you are fully glammed up for the occasion.
Entertainment will come in the form of host MC Slave, artists Otis Frizzell & Dan Tippett, Turnaround DJs Cian, Submariner & Manuel Bundy, Mantis (Aspects, UK), plus surprise guests.
You don’t have to be a VNZMA ticket holder to get in on the action; just make sure you get down there early to guarantee entry. With pole position alongside the red carpet in Aotea Square, it’s the perfect vantage point to scope out the artists getting snapped, while you kick back and enjoy.
Campbell Smith says the red carpet arrival signals an opportunity for fans to catch up in person with all their favourite celebrities and musicians arriving for the show.
“The red carpet is always a big occasion and it’s great to see the fans turn out for the arrivals. And this year Shavaughn Ruakere is covering all the red carpet action that will be included in the C4 broadcast from 8.30pm that night.”
And if you want to see your favourite artist take home a Tui, don’t forget to vote for the Vodafone People’s Choice award.
The five finalists are soloist Brooke Fraser and groups Shapeshifter, Black Seeds, Evermore and Opshop to vote just text the name of your favourite to 787. The winner is revealed on the night of the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.
