Natalie Te Paa is London born singer-songwriter who recently returned to the UK to record her debut single Proud. Natalie is part Māori and was raised in New Zealand. She was born blind due to a condition called septo optic dysplasia.
Natalie wrote Proud to a beat she found on an app called Voicey, made by German based Producer The Crvv. The song lyrics were inspired by her late Grandfather who always believed Natalie would be a star. Claire Sara, a London based Producer, and friend of Natalie (also hailing from New Zealand), knew the track would be a hit, so she invited Natalie to London and signed her to her label Misshaped Music.
In the three months since arriving, Natalie’s social media accounts have since amassed tens of millions of views, including a video of a London restaurant wishing her Happy Birthday in braille that is estimated to have been seen by over 100 million people worldwide landing Natalie the closing segment on NBC news in America in September.
Natalie is performing her debut single live for Google’s virtual event in honour of International Day of Persons with Disability on December 2nd.
